Project Client: St Johns College
Project Class: Small Project
Project Time Frame: 8 weeks
The tender consisted of refurbishing a block of 10 student living spaces to create access for disabled students. The inside had to be demolished and new layouts designed and built. A ramp and canopy were created to allow access for disabled users and certain rooms were made bigger with DDA compliant fixtures and fittings to allow the students to move around the living space easily. En-Suites had to be created for the users, with new drainage running through the existing concrete floor, with new manholes and drainage works outside to accommodate the extra waste. A new kitchen with motorised desktop, energy saving lighting system and a new fuse board had to be installed, as well as new joinery works (purpose built cabinets and wardrobes) and finishes throughout.
